What is the letter called that you write to businesses?

October 20th, 2009 | by admin |

I make handmade items for children. I would like to approach a few stores or mail them a letter showing them what I can offer. What is that letter called and where can I find an example?

A sales or prospecting letter.

You can find books on writing sales letters and conducting marketing campaigns at your local college or public library.

One of the best books for small businesses is Jay Conrad Levinson’s "Guerrilla Marketing". It focuses on easy and low cost ways of building your business.

Hope this helps

A letter to businesses asking about vacancies is called "speculative" if they did not ask you to send it.
