Backlinks are so popular because they make you money. Anyone that has even the most basic knowledge of SEO and internet marketing understands that high ranking site gets a lot more traffic than one that is not and more traffic means more sales. That’s exactly why many don’t mind spending a big chunk of money on purchasing backlinks. Getting better rankings can be as easy as finding a backlinking service and getting your link on a few high pagerank sites. However, for the ones who don’t have the money to invest, they can put in the time and effort to build backlinks for free. Getting backlinks at no cost, just by sheer hard work is the easiest and the most ethical ways to increase your Google Pagerank. What you are setting out to do is finding the hundreds of authority sites that will allow you to place a link on it to your site; once the search engine discovers the link to your site you will be given credit for it. Building free backlinks takes a significant amount of time, so a lot of professional SEO people don’t do it. This means that the field is open for anyone who is willing to put in the time to get these powerful backlinks for their own sites. But there’s one downside to this, you have to be very careful how you’re spending your time building these links. If the backlinks you get hold low value, then you’ve wasted your time. You can go far if you know what to avoid when building links to your site. Link building has to be taken very seriously if your goal is to build a long term business that will bring you income for years to come. The majority of people spread their links to whatever places accepts them: Youtube, blogs, and forums. In fact, one of the quickest ways of your site being penalized is when the search engine finds out that your site’s URL is being spammed across the internet. So there’s nothing great in blasting your link out to these big sites in the hope of getting instant ranking. It is easy to fall into the spamming trap but those techniques don’t work in this day and age. Don’t fall into the common practice of getting backlinks from all the sites you find; instead, use sites that are similar to yours. If you think about it, it makes a lot of sense to have sites that are similar to yours pointing links towards it. The backlink you placed on a sports site won’t help your daily payer’s site one bit. The only thing you have to do in order to find these targeted sites is to learned a few very simple research techniques; after that, you will find hundreds of relevant sites where you can get backlinks. The internet is huge so there is a site that is relevant to yours, no matter how small the niche is. Also, PageRank (PR) is for individual pages and not an entire site. You might have a certain page that is has a PR 5 status but your homepage may be a PR 1 because you don’t really promote it. PageRank is one of the cornerstones in SEO and backlinking strategy; so, using it to your advantage will only help prove to be a good business move. Your backlinking strategy can mean the difference between success and failure when playing the SEO game. Really, staying ahead of the competition is as simple as avoiding these silly link building mistakes.

Your online business is like any other offline business. It runs on the trust that you create with your customers. Just the way networking is highly important to growing an offline business, it’s important to spread your web business by creating a contact list of targeted subscribers who can be your potential customers. Build a list and through your messages you can easily establish yourself as the go-to-guy; the trusted adviser.
If you give them what they want, they will give you what you want in the form of higher profits. It doesn’t matter if you’re having thousands of visitors coming to your website if they leave and never come back. Now that you know the power of list building you should feel guilty for now applying it. A visitor to your site may just be curious or only interested but not looking to buy; your job is to be able to follow up and convince them why your offer can benefit them. Some people buy only after careful consideration and by taking time to think.
Without a list you are sending your traffic to smarter marketers that do have lists. Do you follow any Internet Marketers? I bet you follow them by being on their list. And remember, if you don’t grab the mind share in your niche, someone else will. We will now go into some basic list building strategies and the outcome of following through with them. It is clear that to build your list you need people to go to your website, ie you need to generate traffic, for this there is a great method called Turbo Traffic System.
Good relationships with your list will go a long way to your success. Creating a positive connection with people on your list is more than important. So many marketers only send sales pitches to their list – huge mistake. And the result? They get a lot of unsubscribers. Just remember to exercise a little courtesy with how you market to your list. It doesn’t take a lot to make them feel valued and respected. The consequences of failing to provide good value to your list are many. Losing future profits is just one of them. Be a friend, a mentor, a teacher to your list, someone who they can turn up to when they need. And be sure they realize you’re also there to help them if they need it. Be sincere and friendly. It always pays to be the good guy. So with Turbo Traffic System many people will come to your site and begin to build a big list.
And if you really want to get your subscribers involved just send them a survey to participate in. Give your subscribers a chance to talk to you about their need and wants, this is done with a survey. Asking your readers for their opinions through surveys is a way to show them that their thoughts matter and will build a stronger connection. The key to creating the “special customer” feeling in your subscribers is to communicate with them on a personal level; surveys is one way of doing this.
Developing a great list doesn’t have to be hard, just be sure to do it right with the right steps. Just treat your subscribers with respect, deliver value, and watch as profits start to roll in.

There are n letters for n people.
But the envelopes are blank.
The postman deliver the letters randomly to all the receivers.
What is the probability that NO receiver get his right letter?
Please explain in details, and in the general case and give the general fomular (the case of n people).
Thank you very much.
A "derangment" is a permutation of elements such that each element is placed in a spot different from it’s original position.
Derangement numbers grow very quickly according to a recursive relationship. Like many problems in combinations and permutations, it must be pre-defined what the number of derangements is when n = 0. As such, mathematics defines the number to be 1.
So, If n = 0, it is defined that there is one way to "derange" the available elements (since there are none, it must just be defined, like 0!). If n = 1, it is impossible to derange the 1 item. From there, the formula for calculating the number for derangements goes as follows:
Let X(n) be the number of ways to derange n elements. X(0) = 1, X(1) = 0, and:
X(n) = (n-1) * (X(n-1) + X(n-2))
X(2) = (1) * (X(1) + (X(0)) = 1 * (0 + 1) = 1. If there are two items, there is only one way to derange them. BA.
X(3) = (2) * (1 + 0) = 2. If there are three items, there are two ways to derange them: BCA, CAB.
X(4) = (3) * (2 + 1) = 9. If there are four items, there are nine ways to derange them. BADC, BCDA, BDAC, CADB, CDAB, CDBA, DABC, DCAB, DCBA.

I haven’t gotten my tax rebate direct deposited yet and I read that other people received letters with how much they are getting a month or so ago. I didn’t receive one, but I should be getting a rebate based on my W-2. Because I didn’t receive a letter, does it mean I’m not getting a rebate?
Some people will get their rebate by direct deposit before they get their letter in the mail. Just keep watching for the letter and put it up. You’ll need it when you file your 2008 taxes.

I’m applying for a job and they’ve requested both–references, and letters of recommendation
Letters of recommendation are typically given from someone you have worked with on a professional or educational level and detail your strengths, which emphasize how you qualify for the position you are applying for.
References are typically listing contact information of previous co-workers, managers or friends that can be contacted to verify your credentials or character.
Usually letters of recommendation are asked for more academic positions and references for professional – asking for both is odd. However, if that is the case – the letters of recommendation would be someone that can verify work you have done and write a short description. You should be able to list that person also as a reference too, if you feel that person knows enough about you to answer questions if contacted. However, if not you would want to put down references as people that have known you for at least a year, and could answer questions about your character/ work ethic when contacted.

At school we are going on a trip to Washington DC. I live in Oahu, Hawaii. We are sending out donation letters asking people to donate. I need help thinking of who to send to. So far I know I’m sending to Linda Lingle, Boys and girls club, and a foundation something or other.
Businesses, grants and invididuals, large and small, are overwhelmed with requests from young people wanting money for trips. Most of them do NOT give money to individuals for such — instead, they give money to nonprofit organizations focused on helping the community.
A better approach is for your class, as a whole, to send out letters, on your school letterhead. This letter needs to say why this trip will benefit your community (not just you), how much the student themselves are going to contribute to the trip (are you babysitting or engaging in any activities to raise money?), and how much are the families going to contribute to the trip.

I want to write a letter to President Obama.
Im curious if anyone knows who gets the mail first and how they determine which letters to show to the President.
I guess bottom line is it a waste of time to send the letter if there is no chance the President will ever see it ?, Thanks.
There is a mailroom for the White House. The mail is obviously checked by x-ray and other methods before anyone ever reads it. In the mailroom, there are employees who read the mail first determine whether the correspondence is timely, whether it contains any threats, what the topic is, and any main points you may bring up.
Best advice for a letter to the White House:
Be brief. There is no need to write a 5 page letter if a 2 pager will do.
If you really think your letter might be important enough and would get looked at by way higher ups, make sure you write a _formal_ letter and this is _without_ exception.
There are guides to doing this sort of thing, if you aren’t a master of the art of letter writing, you may want to look at business letters you have received to use as a guide, or try a search if you lack confidence in this sort of thing. Outlining what you want to say first may also help you organize your letter.
The volume of mail into the White House is large, so if your letter is one of those that any of the higher-ups ever do read, you may never know it.
Oh, and I think the people who make those sorts of decisions are liasons who look for certain things of interest the President may be looking for. The mailroom is not the only place the President receives messages from consituents. Don’t forget the comment line, email, and telegrams.

I’ve seen in many sites that people are able to make letters in their phrases or sentences come so close together that they overlap. I tried looking for the code to make the letters overlap but the generator I found made lines overlap, not letters. Does anyone know how the code for making letters overlap?
in your CSS, you need have this in the area of where your text is.
Lets say the following code is for the writing you want to be closer. (*= the code to be added in)
body {
font: arial;
size: 12px;
*letter-space: -5px;
color: #000000;
}
Just an example, but thats how people do it

If you were to write a 250 word letter to your paper over anti(It would a letter to the editor against the illegals and all of their freebies, states that have taken law and made it tougher for illegals there) illegal Immigration , how could you do it and not sound like a racist, yet get people’s attention to this growing problem? Any ideas? The letter would have to apply to all sorts of communities and cities.
Speak about laws, money, financial strains, effects on schools and education, deportation policies, Congressional actions (or lack of), etc. As long as you do not mention or target specific nationalities, language groups, ethnicities, or races it will be fine. Keep it to the point – its a legal and civil concern.
