How long does it take to receive a letter from USMAPS?
Monday, February 15th, 2010Hi, I’m from TX, and I have a friend who is attending USMAPS (United States Military Academy Preparatory School) at NJ, and I sent him a letter during the last week of July.
I really don’t know anything about their schedule and the way things are managed there, but I’ve heard that they’re in some type of "lockdown," so I was wondering,
will he get my letter as soon as it arrives there?
Is there some type of procedure there that makes sending letters lengthy?
Is sending letters for them any different than civilians sending?
I’d really like to be informed because I worry that I did something wrong or something like that.
Lockdown means that someone did something and they weren’t suppose to. This means that they are probably holding any and all mail for everyone.
Dont worry he will get his letters. And all mail to our military members go through the Post Office or UPS, how ever you want to ship it.

If you are sending him something once he deploys of course it will take a bit longer. But you still only need to put a regular stamp on it to get there (for letters). And sending mail to the military is just like sending mail to family and other friends.
good luck and just keep writing him. He might not be able to write you back as often as you like but know that he is happy to receive your letters. There is nothing like hearing your name at mail call.
